Some Tips To Heed In Using Xerox Cartridges

Xerox suggests that toner cartridges should be stored cautiously in a dry and clean environment. Do not expose them to extreme temperatures, and try to keep them in their packaging. Even a few minutes of exposure to light could cause damage to the cartridge. This may in turn decrease your prints’ quality.

The printer’s warranty does not cover the damages incurred by the machine brought about by using a refilled toner cartridge. It is true that you can spend less, but Xerox does not recommend it due to certain risks.

A “Toner Save” setting is available in Xerox laser printers, while inkjets have a draft setting. Press the settings button repeatedly until you see “Toner Save” on the LCD screen. After which, you press the accept button. This would then set the printer to use less toner for every sheet. It may lessen the quality of the print. However, it’s ideal for printing out emails or draft copies of documents.

Printing many pictures has negative impacts on the cartridge, and it tends to lessen its life. The toner cartridge that comes with a machine usually has a lower amount of toner in it. It could even have a varied shape to the Xerox toner cartridges purchased as a replacement.

See the manual that comes with the printer for details of the replacement and fitted cartridges. Taking the cartridge with you to the shop may not be a very helpful thing.

As you use the toner, it may get unevenly distributed within the cartridge which brings about white streaks or streaks of light printing. This could even lead the Toner Low message being switched on early.

If such things happen, take the toner out and roll the cartridge 5 to 6 times in order to redistribute the toner. Hold it over paper while keeping it away from yourself since loose toner could spill out.

Clean your machine every time you have the cartridge changed. See to it that you unplug the machine beforehand, and dust it externally and internally. Also, make sure that you do not touch the transfer roller since oil from your fingers could bring about issues with printing.

Purchasing consumables such as cartridges in bulk gets to spare you significant amounts of money. Additionally, the cost for transport and packaging is way less for manufacturers and vendors, which is passed on to customers. It’s also environment-friendly since it saves fuel and packaging materials.

Does copying documents on a copy machine take up less ink than printing out the documents?

Question by Slayer XY: Does copying documents on a copy machine take up less ink than printing out the documents?
I have a printer and a copy machine and I’ve written part 1 of my story that I wanted to share with 3 of my friends and get their opinion on the first part of it. I’m just wondering if there’s a way that I can use less ink.

A copier usually uses toner, not ink. It’s generally cheaper because of it’s lower quality. The problem would be if your “copy machine” is your all in one desktop inkjet, which would use the same amount of ink regardless. In the long run, copying has been cheaper in my experience for text.
