Xerox Printers And Toner Products

People have varying opinions regarding Xerox printers and toner products. Xerox has been the household name when it comes to printer companies that are still up and running in the market. People have regarded them as the forerunners for the said industry. In connection to their length of time in the business, it is safe to say that they have much and enough knowledge as well as experiences.

People have attested to the fact that they rely more on Xerox and their products because of the conveniences and advantages it offers. Newer brands do come and go but people know better than to put their trust in something relatively new in the arena of the printing industry. Xerox has done this for quite a few decades already, so it would be a safe and logical choice for people to put their money on the leading and tested brand. To state the obvious, Xerox has particularly mastered the art of printing with quality. Consumers have said time and time again that Xerox still gives out the best quality that can only be rivaled by top of the line yet expensive models that are totally unneeded in the usual and day to day office setting. Xerox even excels in almost all types and sizes of paper that is available out there. People don’t know much about why Xerox excels but much is credited to its warm up time. Efficiency is the key that is why Xerox only needs around ten to fifteen seconds before it is totally warmed up. They have a certain pull in people’s decision because of the brand name as well as the brilliant history of their products.

Like anything else, people do still have complaints about this. Most Xerox machines are not portable enough for home use or small offices. They are on the ‘bigger’ category. Xerox also demands a bit more expenses since they are geared for large scale businesses. But needless to say, Xerox is arguably one of the best companies out there in the printing business. People can look for other options but for tested and proven products, Xerox will always be part of the pack.

Inkjet printers are pretty cheap these days. Most have multiple functions called PSC (Printer/Scanner/Copier) or All-In-One’s. Some can be bought for under $ 50.

Me, I scan pages on my printer, using Photoshop to import the TWAIN source. Then I can manipulate the electronic image with Photoshop and store it in one of several file formats.

What is the best desktop printer out there? Cheap ink, reliable and great photographic quality prints?

I’ve only ever owned Epson printers and have used them for printing everything you can imagine. Portraits, snapshots, charts, graphics, cards and letters. They produce beautiful photos and they’re a great office printer as well.

I would recommend that you stay away from the Epson Stylus CX series all in one printers though. While they print beautiful photos, a lot of users have had problems with the cartridges and printer firmware. Judging by the reviews I’ve read, they’re not the most reliable machine, especially if manufactured before March of 2007.

Alternatively, Canon printers produce great photos, their fully functioned all-in-ones perform reliably and are fairly inexpensive. Again, look for an older model where compatible or factory remanufactured cartridges are available.

HP, Lexmark and Dell printers all produce good photos and, while usually inexpensive to purchase (lots of them come free with a new computer), the costs for original brand name cartridges can bankrupt you.

Look for factory remanufactured or compatible cartridges from a reputable supplier and you’ll save some money.

Check the Epson online store and their clearance center for great deals and rebate coupons. They offer free shipping and their refurbished printers carry a full one-year warranty.

In some cases, you can buy a deadly machine for as little as $ 50 after the rebate.

If you can find an older or refurbished printer, you can save a pile of cash and compatible inks will most likely be available and provide you with an cheap alternative to original Epson cartridges.

If you’re fanatical about archival quality and cost is not an issue, you’ll probably be happier using the OEM inks and their brand of photo paper as well. If you’re going to be satisfied with good results at a fraction of the cost, look for compatible inks and generic photo paper.

At the very least, you can save cash if you print proofs with the generic paper and compatible inks, then swap in the OEM cartridges and paper to print the final copies.

Before you make your purchase, search some online ink stores to see if compatible or remanufactured cartridges are available for the machine you’re interested in.

Any one of these sites should help you to find what you need.

Is this even possible? And what is the “best” printer brand(in your opinion)?

Question by Kaiyra: Is this even possible? And what is the “best” printer brand(in your opinion)?
So I have a HP Officejet 4500. The first one we got did not have that little white strip on the scanning glass(I think that the white strip lights up).

So we got another one under the warranty, which was not brand new. It had a white strip, and it was visible whenever it was off, and when we first turned it on, it would move back and forth. So a couple of days ago, I scanned some pictures and it worked fine. Then within two hours of my last scanning, I had to copy a document. It would not copy. I looked at the scanning glass, and there was not a little white strip.

This is probably a dumb question, but do those strips or whatever they are, disappear? Or do they evaporate into thin air? Could it have been suspended and supported, and somehow broke whatever supported it, and fell into the printer?

We called the HP support center, said we had to get a replacement, again. But it’s just like before, we don’t get a new one, we just get one that was broken before and was “fixed”.

The printer is plugged into the wall. We did turn it on, and re-installed it again.

Do you have any idea what happened to that little white strip inside the scanner? We are looking to either get our money back, or get a real brand new printer, or just buy another brand that is better and actually works. What brand do you reccomend?

I think what you call a little white strip is a flourescent bulb which is part of the scanner. It illuminates the document so it can be copied. And no, it should not disappear. It should last for a number of years. In my years of hardware support, I have installed many scanners and I don’t recall having one which didnt light up. That’s out of hundreds. Something is very wrong when you are getting this many problems. It sounds like whoever is supposed to refurbish these machines is doing a miserable job.
As for the best all-in-one, keep reading:

The Epson Artisan 725 currently $ 99 direct from Epson after instant $ 100 rebate. Best warranty in the industry, Epson will fedex a replacement and pick up the old one at their expense should you need it. The Artisan 810 is $ 109 in refurb with full 2-year warranty. Since you get free shipping, this works out to the same as the 725. A year ago the refurb Artisan 800 was on sale (almost the identical printer). I and many friends bought it. In a year only one (out of at least a dozen) had to be replaced and it took one day. Not mine and I use it heavily. The Artisans are heavy-duty wireless, scanner/Copier/printers, print to DVD, fast, great output. Best of all, you can get ink for under 50 cents a cartridge. You pay under 2.50 for reusable cartridges and then get $ 2 back for the empties. Or you can buy refillables (which is what Im using now) and refill yourself for pennies. The info on the printer and the link to the epson deal is at http://ccs-digital.com/Best-printer-deals.asp
